1. Ethane is a saturated hydrocarbon and ethylene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon.
2. Ethane does not decolourise bromine (Br2) in carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) whereas ethylene gives this tests.
3. Ethane does not decolourise pink colour of KMnO4 whereas ethylene does.
